Patrol Carbine Instructor Recertification
Full Description
This class is a recertification of Patrol Carbine Instructor Course #2014 and is 16 hours in length.  It should be attended within 5  years of last certification.

This course will provide the current carbine instructor with contemporary techniques and theories. The course objectives are as follows:
• Introduce participants to contemporary techniques & theories for firearms instruction
• Instruction on the use of duty optics

Additional topics will include:
• Deployment & manipulation exercises
• Marksmanship qualification

Prerequisites:
1. Successful completion of Patrol Carbine Instructor, course #2014, and current Handgun Instructor Certification or completion of Handgun Recertification, course #2015.

2. An exit qualification will be required at the end of the course. A passing score is required to receive a certification. Please review the exit qualification attached


Audience:  Active law enforcement and corrections personnel who meet the prerequisites.

Dress Code:  For security reasons, while on the WSCJTC campus are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform and have their agency ID badge visible.

Cancelation Policy:
1) Registration will be completed 45 days before the course start date.
2) Invoices for the course will be generated and sent to respective agencies on the first day of the course. Payment for the course is expected within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
3) Cancellations of registered attendees must occur before the registration date for the course. The cancellation must be submitted by the agency's training coordinator to the program registrar via email.
a. If cancellation occurs within 45 days of the course start date, the agency will be invoiced for the full tuition cost and are expected to pay the full price of tuition within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
b. The WSCJTC encourages replacing the attendee who had to cancel with another attendee from the same agency. In certain circumstances, a credit can be extended to the agency for another course date.

Prerequisites
I acknowledge that a shooting test will be administered the morning of class.  Please review the skills test documents attached to the session in the WSCJTC Acadis Portal.

A passing score is required to continue on with the class.  A passing score is required to continue on with the class.  Failure of the entry qualification, (Less than 90% or 450 out of 500 pts) will result in the student being released from the course. Fees will not be waived.
Student must have successfully completed BOTH Patrol Rifle Instructor (2014) and Handgun Instructor Recertification (2015).

Provide graduation or recertification dates.
Required:  Include the make, model and caliber of weapon.

Resources Required
• Agency issued/approved carbine with agency optics and iron sights or just iron sights, sling (recommend tactical), optional light mount. All applicants will bring a duplicate spare rifle in case of weapon malfunction.
• Spare magazine carrier (either belt or weapon mounted)
• Minimum of 3 rifle magazines
• Recommended - Dummy training rifle with sling (red or blue plastic – ASP or Ring’s)
• Duty handgun and Patrol duty belt with a minimum of 3 pistol magazines
• Eye protection
• Hearing protection – electronic headphones and earplugs
• One duty flashlight and one backup
• Baseball cap
• Body armor
• Laptop or note-taking material

Required Ammunition
• 1,000 rounds for rifle
• 10 inert (dummy) rifle rounds
• 200 rounds duty pistol
Reporting Instructions
Classes will be held 0800 – 1700.
