Full Description: This class is a recertification of Shotgun Instructor Course #2018 and is now a 8 hours in length and should be attended within 5 years of last certification. This course will provide the current shotgun instructor with the contemporary techniques and theories.

The course topics are as follows:
• Shotgun deployment & manipulation exercises
• Shotgun Marksmanship Qualifications
• Introduce participants to contemporary techniques & theories for instruction

Prerequisites:
1. Successful completion of Patrol Shotgun, course #2030 and a current  Handgun Instructor Certification or Recertification.

2. A passing score of 90% on the Exit Qualification. The exit qualification will be conducted at the end of the course. To review the requirements, see our required forms below.   To review the requirements, see our required forms below.

3. Failure of the exit qualification, (Less than 90% or 450 out of 500 pts) will result in the student’s certification being held until completion of the exit qualification within 30 days of end of course. Fees will not be waived.

Audience:  Active law enforcement and corrections personnel who meet the prerequisites.

Dress Code:  For security reasons, while on the WSCJTC campus are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform and have their agency ID badge visible.

Cancelation Policy: Deadline to cancel is 14 days prior to class. There is a $600 no show or late cancellation fee. Cancellations are done by the agency's training manager in the WSCJTC Acadis Portal.

Prerequisites: I acknowledge that a shooting test will be administered the morning of class.  Please review the skills test documents attached to the session in the WSCJTC Acadis Portal.

Student must successfully complete of Patrol Shotgun, course #2043 and Handgun Instructor Recertification, course #2015.

Resources Required: • Agency-issued/approved shotgun pump or semi-auto, with sling and side saddle or other spare ammunition storage device capable of being attached to the weapon. All applicants should bring a duplicate spare shotgun.
• Duty handgun and Patrol duty belt with minimum of 3 magazines
• Eye protection (including clear glasses for night firing)
• Hearing protection - electronic headphones and earplugs
• Copy of your agency's firearms and less lethal policies
• One duty flashlight and one backup
• Weapon cleaning equipment
• BDU type pants with cargo pockets
• Baseball cap
• Body armor
• Laptop and flashdrive
• The following are not required, but recommended
o Rain poncho/parka
o Water bottle
o Knee pads
o Elbow pads

Required Ammunition
• 10 dummy shotgun rounds.
• 250 rounds of 00 Buckshot (Flight Control ammunition recommended)
• 50 slug rounds
• 50 rounds of practice ammo for duty pistol
• 20 rounds of less lethal ammunition

Reporting Instructions: Classes will be held 0800 – 1700.
