Full Description
• This class serves as a recertification for Firearms Handgun Instructors and Handgun Optics Instructors. It is 16 hours in length and should be attended within 5 years of the last certification. This course will provide the current firearms instructor with contemporary techniques and theories as well as a review, along with updates on RDS technology and training standards. In addition, this course will provide a review of federal and state laws and contemporary legal standards relating to the use of deadly force.

Course topics are as follows:
• Review of state & federal laws concerning use of deadly force
• Review principles of the Enoka and Heim studies
• Review handgun manipulation Techniques
• Handgun marksmanship qualification
• Current marksmanship and combat shooting techniques
• Aiming principles to include red dot sight discussion and application

Prerequisites:
1. Successful completion of Handgun Instructor, course #2011.

2. A passing score of 90% on the Exit Qualification. The exit qualification will be conducted at the end of the course. To review the requirements, see our required forms below. Failure of the exit qualification, (Less than 90% or 450 out of 500 pts) will result in the student’s certification being held until completion of the exit qualification within 30 days of end of course. Fees will not be waived.

Audience:  Active law enforcement and corrections personnel who meet the prerequisites.

Dress Code:  For security reasons, while on the WSCJTC campus are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform and have their agency ID badge visible.

Cancelation Policy: Deadline to cancel is 14 days prior to class. There is a $850 no show or late cancellation fee. Cancellations are done by the agency's training manager in the WSCJTC Acadis Portal.

Prerequisites
Required:  Include the make, model and caliber of weapon.

Example:  Glock, 17, 9mm
I acknowledge that an Entry-Level Shooting Test and Manipulation Skill Test will be administered the morning of class.  A passing score is required to continue on with the class.

A pre qualification can be arranged by contacting one of the current CJTC Master Firearms Instructor on the  CJTC Firearms MI Contact List.

Forms are available on the session and can be downloaded from the WSCJTC Acadis Portal.
You must have a current CJTC Handgun Instructor 1 Level Certification.
Provide the date of your last CJTC Handgun Instructor Level 1 Certification or Recertification.

• Department approved handgun w/ three magazines
• Duty belt with agency approved holster and magazine pouches
• Eye protection and ear protection
• BDU Type pants w/cargo pockets
• Body armor will be worn while on range
• Laptop and Flash drive Required Ammunition  

Required Ammunition
• Handgun - 1,000 rounds of handgun ammunition, 25 inert training rounds, (dummy rounds)
Reporting Instructions
Classes will be held 0800 – 1700 over the course of two days.
