Full Description
The 24-hour CJTC Single Action Only Instructor Course is designed to teach law enforcement and corrections personnel the skills required to transition agency personnel from striker fired handguns to a 1911 / 2011 platform.  Participants should be proficient public speakers with above average marksmanship and weapons manipulation skills.  This course is predominantly spent on the firing range due to extensive programming needed to integrate the handgun’s manual of arms into functional use.  This class covers and is conducted using intentional methodologies on skill learning, skill retention, and skill transfer.  

A prerequisite to attend this course is successful completion of the CJTC Handgun Instructor Course, or comparable Handgun Instructor certifications.  Comparable certifications are evaluated by the Firearms Program Manager.  

WHO CAN ATTEND OUR CLASSES?

Active law enforcement officers, corrections officers, and PS handgun instructors who meet the prerequisites.

• Agency approved Single Action Only Handgun using a 1911 / 2011 style manual of arms.
            -2011:  Minimum of 3 Magazines
     -1911:  Minimum of 7 Magazines
• Eye protection
• Hearing protection – electronic headphones recommended
• Review and be ready to discuss your department’s handgun approval process
• Weapon cleaning equipment
• Body armor
• Baseball hat
• Laptop
• USB Flash Drive

REQUIRED AMMUNITION
• 1000 handgun

DRESS CODE
Students attending should wear range appropriate clothing.  Come prepared for all weather conditions.  They should possess agency identification.
