Basic techniques to investigate collision.
Full Description
Teaches basic techniques to investigate collisions while keeping it easy to understand. Upon successfully completing this course, the students will have a basic knowledge of photography, marks on the roadway, information from vehicles, lamp analysis, blood draws, and scene diagramming.  Students will review some basic math and formulas for calculating a vehicle’s minimum speed prior to the collision.  Material will be provided by WSCJTC which will also be used in future collision classes.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize and collect at-scene accident evidence such as tire marks, vehicle damage, roadway condition and vehicle and driver condition
• Accurately complete the standardized Accident Investigation Report
• Perform basic math and formulas for calculating a vehicle's speed prior to collision
• Understand the most effective interviewing techniques for drivers, occupants and witnesses
• Organize and prepare for court; use the evidence collected from the accident scene

Audience:  This course is open to active law enforcement officers.

Pre-Course Work: None.

Dress Code:  For security reasons, while on the WSCJTC campus are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform and have their agency ID badge visible.

Cancellation Policy: Deadline to cancel is 7 days prior to class.  There is a $100 no show or late cancellation fee, whichever is higher.
